ODM Chairman John Mbadi claimed that Otiende Amollo issued threats to the party and snubbed Party Leader Raila Odinga.

A new twist has emerged in the de-whipping of Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo after his party claimed that he was not ousted for declaring his stand on the BBI Bill.

According to ODM, Otiende has ousted from the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee for allegedly blackmailing the party.

Speaking to a local radio station, ODM chairman John Mbadi claimed that Otiende threatened to resign from the committee if his input was not factored in the BBI Bill.

He further noted that the Senior Counsel snubbed Raila’s meeting opting to send a text; which did not augur well with the party leadership.

“Raila listened to the audio and called Otiende and Orengo for a meeting on Monday. Orengo went but Otiende refused, only to text Raila that his stand is unchanged,” Mbadi said.

However, speaking on Thursday morning, Otiende rubbished Mbadi’s claims noting that he did not send such a text to his party leader.

“I communicate and communicated with my party leader on many things, even yesterday even on Sunday, so I have sent him many texts. The day my party leader talks of any specific text is the day I’ll need to answer.

“It is very simple, Let him share the text with you… The last SMS we shared with my party leader we agreed to meet… All this speculation being made I was texted, I was called for a meeting and I refused it is all nonsense,” Otiende opined.

Meanwhile, ODM has announced that it will not be replacing Senate Minority Leader James Orengo even though he has expressed opposition to the party’s position on the BBI Bill.
