The Jubilee Party National Management Committee (NMC) has launched a disciplinary process targeting two members of Parliament and one Senator.

The NMC met on Wednesday and deliberated on disciplining Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, Nominated M Cecile Mbarire, and Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga.

Moses Kuria is accused of supporting the ideals and campaigning for a rival candidate, while Omanga and Mbarire are accused of contravening the party position in regards to the BBI Bill voting.

Omanga and Mbarire opposed the BBI Bill yet Jubilee had urged all its MPs to pass the Bill in its entirety.

Speaking on Wednesday, Jubilee Party vice-chair David Murathe said Kuria has been on the forefront supporting a PEP candidate in the upcoming Juja By-election despite Jubilee fielding a candidate in the same race.

Murathe noted that discipline is paramount in the party, adding that if found guilty, Kuria could be expelled from Jubilee.

“We have asked the Jubilee disciplinary committee to take up the matter and summon him to answer to the accusations. If he is culpable, we will remove him from the party through expulsion; we must retain discipline in our party,” said Murathe.

The new purge comes a few days after the party successfully managed to oust Isaac Mwaura from the Senate, replacing him with former Samburu Senator Sammy Leshore.
