President Uhuru Kenyatta has revoked the appointment of Gumato Ukur Yattani as the Chairperson of the Council of JKUAT.

According to a Kenya Gazette Notice published on Wednesday, October 14, the appointment of Ms Gumato, the wife to Treasury CS Ukur Yattani, was revoked effective October 16.

Ms Gumato was Gumato by Ambassador Mahboub Maalim in the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Jkuat) Council where she was to serve for a period of three years with effect from November 8, 2019.

Plum state jobs

In 2019, Dr Gumato was appointed to two plum jobs which caused a stir on social media platforms.

Industry, Trade and Co-operatives CS Peter Munya named Dr Gumato a member of the Taskforce on Standards and Quality Infrastructure Reforms in Kenya.

The task force is mandated to review and evaluate in comprehensive terms, the weaknesses and shortcomings of Kenyan standards and quality.
