  • The new role proves that Senator Kihika has earned the full trust of DP Ruto.

Deputy President William Ruto has started putting together a team across the country to help push his 2022 presidential bid.

While the DP maintains that he is still in Jubilee, all indications are that he’ll ditch the ruling party and join UDA; which many speculate that he’ll use for his 2022 presidential bid.

So far, the UDA Party is taking shape countrywide with the DP’s allies landing strategic roles in different parts of the country.

In Nakuru County, Senator Susan Kihika has been charged with the role of popularising UDA party in the region.

Reports indicate that the vocal senator has already put together an interim team made up of businessmen and opinion leaders and area politicians who played a critical role in popularizing Jubilee party during the last polls.

The team has one representative from all the constituencies in the county.

The team branded ‘UDA Nakuru Coordination Team’ is made up of; Bernard Gitau Kimani (Team leader), Paul Kibet Chebor (Rongai), Joseph Mwangi Njeru (Gilgil), Anthony Kamau Ng'ang'a (Naivasha ), and John Kamau Muchai (Subukia).

Others include; Wesley Kipkemoi Ruttoh (Kuresoi North), Anthony Maina Ngari (Nakuru Town East), John Lang'at (Kuresoi South), Zakayo Maina (Nakuru West), Benjamin Kibet Kirui (Njoro) John Bosco Wagacha (Bahati), and Grace Karanja (Molo).

Nakuru is a crucial county as it hosts thousands of registered voters from across the country.

Meanwhile, other allies of the DP are expected to take up similar roles in their home counties as the 2022 elections draw nigh.
