KMPDU has unveiled their new leaders following national elections held on May 6, 2021.

The Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists' Union (KMPDU) have announced leadership changes at the union.

The leaders were elected through national elections held on May 6, 2021, and the results announced yesterday, May 15.

The elections were held virtually in accordance with safety regulations issued by the government in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Shortly after the results, were announced, some candidates opposed the results, but the leaders insisted that the elections were free and fair, and were conducted in line with their constitution.

The new leaders elected are; Dr. Abidan Mwachi (Chairman), Dr. Kahura Mundia (Deputy Chairman), and Dr. Davji Bhimji Atella (Secretary-General).

Former Secretary-General (acting) Chibanzi Mwachonda was a contestant for the seat on a permanent basis but came short.

Dr. Miskella Mbega was elected the union's deputy sec-gen, Dr. Mercy Nabwire (treasurer), and Dr. Anbar Ganatra (deputy treasurer).

The new leaders will serve for a term of five years.
