Waiguru blasted Boniface Mwangi for appearing to suggest that she was elected due to her 'close' ties to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and human rights activist Boniface Mwangi have lit up social media after the latter accused the former of underperforming in her role as Kirinyaga County boss.

In a tweet on Tuesday, Boniface Mwangi claimed that Kirinyaga residents voted in Waiguru hoping to receive benefits from State House, since the governor is a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He questioned whether the residents had received any benefits four years later, and urged them to vote wisely in the next poll.

“The people of Kirinyaga who voted for someone because they assumed the president will becoming for sleepovers, how are you this morning? Has a single sleepover happened? Has that brought development to Kirinyaga County? I hope you vote wisely in 2022,” he tweeted.

The tweet did not augur well with Governor Waiguru who noted that her administration has initiated and completed several development projects across the county which are currently benefitting residents.

Some of the projects she highlighted include; Kirinyaga maternity, Baricho Male ward, creation of 11 new markets among others.

“I usually don’t respond to non sensical posts. @bonifacemwangi don’t try to use me to get your next tranche of funding! DO NOT insult the people of Kirinyaga. They voted for development that they can now see. So WACHA USHENZI Respect us and our families!” she tweeted.

Responding to the governor, Boniface Mwangi claimed that she was a thief. “Anne Waiguru I will call you a thief for free, today and everyday.”
