Senators Irungu Kang'ata (Murang'a), Turkana Governor Josephat Nanok and economist David Ndii are among the guest leaders in attendance.

The DP is also said to have met a team of lecturers from Pwani University led by Hamisi Mwakimako.

The professionals have gathered economic deficits and prospects they will present to the DP.

Among the MPs present include; Aisha Jumwa (Malindi), Mohammed Ali (Nyali), Khatib Mwashetani (Lunga Lunga) among others.

The Coast leaders are expected to brief the DP of the economic potential of the region ranging from agriculture, mining, and tourism.

The 1.8 million vote-rich region has become a center of scramble between the DP and former premier Raila Odinga, as he aims to solidify his base ahead of the 2022 general elections.

The meeting between DP Ruto and the Coast leaders comes 2 weeks after he held a series of similar meetings with leaders from the Mount Kenya region.
