Kenya has recorded 437 more Covid-19 positive cases out of a sample size of 4,311 in the last 24 hours.

On Friday, October 16, 2020, the Ministry of Health announced that the national tally now stands at 43,580 cases.

The country is also mourning the death of 8 people who succumbed to the disease.

The total number of fatalities now stands at 813.

From the cases, 430 are Kenyans and 7 ae foreign nationals while 253 are males and 184 females.

The youngest case recorded today is a four-month-old baby while the oldest is 95 years.

Recoveries and distribution in Counties

MoH reported that 140 people had been discharged from hospital bringing the total number of recoveries to 31,648.

According to MoH, 72 of the 140 recoveries are from Home-Based Care Program, while 68 were discharged from various hospitals.  


The cases are distributed in counties as follows; Nairobi 136, Nakuru 66, Kilifi 29, Kisumu 26, Uasin Gishu 21, Kericho 21, Embu 17, Busia 16, Kajiado 15, Migori 14, Machakos 14 and Kiambu 9.

In Meru 9 cases were recorded while Nadi had 8, Bomet 6, Nyeri 5, Laikipia 5, Mombasa 5, Nyamira 3, Nyandarua 2, Elgeyo Marakwet 2, Turkana 2, Tharaka Nithi 2, Wajir 2, Murang'a 1, and Siaya 1.
