  • The prayer breakfast is the first time the president and his deputy are meeting in public since February 25, 2021.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto have today met during the 2021 National Prayer Breakfast at Parliament Buildings.

The National Prayer breakfast is an annual event hosted by Parliament where the nation comes together in prayer.

Due to Covid-19, this year’s event was held at Parliament Buildings, and the attendance list reduced in adherence to the Covid protocols issued by the Ministry of Health.

It is worth noting that the prayer breakfast is the first time the president and his deputy are meeting in public since February 25, 2021, when they meet during a Cabinet meeting.

It is also the third time they are meeting in public this year amid claims that the two have fallen out and no longer see eye to eye.

The DP has missed several key state functions with his team indicating that he was not invited.

Some of the functions included the Covid-19 vaccination exercise by State Officers, the State visit by Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu among others.
