Kiagu MCA Eunice Karegi is dead.

Governor Alfred Mutua confirmed the death of the Maendeleo Chap Chap MCA on Thursday.

Ms Karegi died on Thursday, May 27 2021 while undergoing treatment at a hospital in India.

Dr Mutua who is also MCC Party leader eulogized Ms Karegi as sharp, pleasant and focused person who was faithful to the party.

"I pass my & MCC party condolences & to the family of our Maendeleo Chap Chap elected MCA Hon. Eunice Karimi Karegi of Kiagu Ward, Central Imenti constituency, Meru County who succumbed to cancer. Eunice was a faithful party member, sharp, pleasant & focused person. Rest In Peace," governor Mutua wrote on Twitter.

The Kiagu MCA was one of two women who were elected in the Meru County Assembly under the MCC Party ticket.

Meru Assembly Speaker Joseph Kaberia said the death of Karegi is a great loss to the Assembly and people of Kiagu ward.

“On my behalf and entire Meru assembly fraternity, I convey our sincere condolences to family, friends, people of Kiagu and entire county government of Meru,” Kaberia stated.
