The officers are accused of soliciting bribes during a recruitment exercise conducted across the country earlier this year.

Officer Anthony Leboo who is believed to have been the mastermind of the scheme, was charged alongside two majors, a constable and a lieutenant.

"A discipline that calls for insider understanding of the norms and customs, the civil courts may knot do justice in military cases hence the need to have military members sit in the court marshal," Principal Magistrate Hosea Ng'ang'a stated.
