President Uhuru Kenyatta has arrived in Kisumu for a three-day working tour of Nyanza Region during which he will visit several Government projects.

President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived in Kisumu County on Sunday ahead of Madaraka day celebrations on Tuesday. 

The Head of State was received by former premier Raila Odinga and Kisumu Governor Ayang' Nyong'o. 

"President Uhuru Kenyatta has arrived in Kisumu for a three-day working tour of Nyanza Region during which he will visit several Government projects.

"Also on the President's diary is a two-day State Visit by his Burundi counterpart His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye, and the 58th Madaraka Day Celebrations at the new Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium in Kisumu County," tweets by State House read. 

In an update by State House spokesperson Kanze Dena, the venue for Madaraka Day remains the new Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium, Mamboleo but admission to the stadium will be strictly by an invitation card. 

"The venue for Madaraka Day is the new Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium, Mamboleo. However, due to the Covid-19 situation in the County & the Country, the number of citizens attending event has been highly reduced and admission to the Stadium will be strictly by invitation card," Kanze stated.
