Covid-19 has killed twelve more patients in Kenya, raising the death toll to 825, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe reported.

In a statement on Saturday, CS Kagwe announced 616 new infections after testing 5,512 samples in the last 24 hours.

The total caseload now stands at 44,196. In addition, 104 more patients have been discharged, increasing the total number of recoveries to 31,752.

According to the Ministry of Health, 83 of the recoveries were from the home-based care program and 21 discharged from various hospitals.


Cases In Counties

The cases are distributed as follows: Nairobi 121, Nakuru 110, Uasin Gishu 74, Mombasa 55, Kakamega 32, Kericho 29, Kisumu 26 and Bungoma 21.

Garissa had 20 cases Turkana 16, Kiambu 13, Homa Bay 10, Kajiado 10, Kisii 10, Laikipia 9, Busia 8, Isiolo 6, West Pokot 6, Murang’a 6, Bomet 5, Meru 4 and Narok 4.

In Embu 3 cases were recorded, Baringo 3, Nyeri 2, Kwale 2, Machakos 2, Makueni 2, Siaya 2, Elgeyo Marakwet 1, Wajir 1, Nandi 1, Kirinyaga 1, and Trans Nzoia 1.

The youngest patient is an 8-month old infant while the oldest is 86 years.
