Changamwe Sub-County Commander Flabio Karimi stated that the teenager may have died from a road accident.


A 19-year-old girl who was reported missing three days ago has been discovered dead in Changamwe, Jomvu Sub-county, Mombasa County.

The girl, since identified as Najma Abdullahi, was reported missing on June 9.

According to the girl's family, her body was found at the Dongo Kundu bypass with bruises to the head. Her teeth were knocked out and she had blood stains in the mouth and nose.

Changamwe Sub-County Commander Flabio Karimi stated that the teenager may have died from a road accident.

"The accident occurred within Jomvu. We are waiting for more details and a post mortem report,”  he said.

Najma's body was taken to the Port Reitz Hospital.

"She was last seen at Changamwe National Housing wearing a black dress, a white scarf and black rubber shoes," occurrence book (OB) number 30/10/06/2021 filed at Changamwe Police Station reads in part.

Muslims for Human Rights (Muhuri) has since come to the family's aid, to help them conduct a postmortem as to identify the exact cause of her death.
