Former ODM County branch chair Samuel Omwando was arrested over an alleged plot to disrupt the Mashujaa Day celebrations.

Police also arrested Bobaracho ward MCA Ibrahim Ongubo and four other suspects said to be bloggers over claims that they would disrupt the fete slated for Tuesday, October 20.

Ongubo was at the Agriculture Training Centre for a Kisii leaders consultative meeting on Sunday evening when he was arrested.

Reports indicate that police intend to have them charged with incitement to violence after they were taken to Kisii Central Police Station awaiting arraignment.

Reports by Citizen News indicated that their family members claimed the charges are being fabricated since most of those arrested support the Tangatanga movement.
