  • Deputy President William Ruto hits back following ODM Leader Raila Odinga's statement at Kalembe Ndile's burial.

Deputy President William Ruto has responded following ODM Leader Raila Odinga's criticism of church leaders.

Speaking on Saturday DP Ruto stated that everyone is free to take a position on any matter and criticized Raila for asking Church leaders to keep off BBI discussions.

Speaking during the burial of former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile in Mbui Nzau, Makueni yesterday, Raila said Ruto’s claim to represent ‘hustlers’ was meant to hoodwink vulnerable groups into supporting his presidential ambitions.

He, however, gave a hint that his name will be on the ballot in 2022 stating that he will adopt similar tactics used by the late Tanzanian President John Magufuli.

“We have a budget of 2 trillion plus, but most of it will be stolen. We do not lack. Money is stolen. We will stop all opportunities of theft and you will see for yourselves what we can do with the little we have. Magufuli did in Tanzania in five years, we can do it too," Odinga said.
