  • Detectives from the DCI are hunting down a teenage boy who killed his father on Sunday after an argument.

DCI Detectives from Londiani in Kericho County, are searching for a teenage boy suspected to have killed his father on Sunday over lost chicken.

The 18-year-old confronted his father Wilson Kipsoi (50) after he noticed one of his chicken was missing.

However, an argument ensured and Kipsoi threatened to shoot his son with arrows forcing the teenager to flee to a neighbour's house.

"The following day, the suspect went back home armed with a club, vowing to stop at nothing until his father produced his chicken. He descended on him and assaulted him repeatedly using the crude weapon while demanding compensation for his missing chicken," the DCI said in a statement.

After injuring the old man, the teenager escaped from the scene of the crime but DCI says sleuths are looking for him.

"Immediately after the incident, the suspect went into hiding leaving his father unconscious. He was rushed to Londiani Sub-County Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. The suspect is still at large and detectives are hunting him down," the statement added.
