The Court of Appeal through its President Justice Daniel Musinga has published the names of seven judges set to preside over the BBI Appeal case filed by among others President Uhuru Kenyatta, ODM Leader Raila Odinga, and the Attorney General.

In a statement on Thursday, the Court of Appeal noted that the seven-judge bench will be chaired by Justice Musinga.

Other members of the bench include; Justices; Patrick Kiage, Francis Tuyoitt, Fatuma Sichale, Roselyne Nambuye, Hannah Okwengu, and Gatembu Kairu.

Here is the full list:

• Justice Daniel Musinga – Chair

• Justice Patrick Kiage

• Justice Francis Tuyoitt

• Justice Fatuma Sichale

• Justice Roselyne Nambuye

• Justice Hannah Okwengu

• Justice Gatembu Kairu

The seven-judge bench is set to start hearing the case on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.

Early this month, President Kenyatta, Raila, the Office of the Attorney General, and IEBC filed a separate appeal contesting various parts of a High Court decision that termed BBI unconstitutional.

The appellants want the Court of Appeal to find that the High Court erred in tis decision and reverse the ruling. As it stands, the BBI process has been put on hold, until the case is heard and determined.

This means that the referendum that was being planned for June or July this year cannot happen as its proponents were hoping for.
