Deputy President William Ruto has revealed what he whispered to President Uhuru Kenyatta during the October 2020, Bomas BBI report launch, noting that he reminded the Head of State that he is the right team member to receive the baton.

During the launch, President Kenyatta accused his deputy of engaging in early campaigns at the expense of the promises Jubilee made to Kenyans.

“Tulisonga pamoja lakini hapa kati kati ndio sasa 2022 ikaingilIa akasahau yale mengine but nasema tutulize boli,” Uhuru said.

He equated the situation between him and his deputy to a relay race, noting that instead of Ruto waiting for him to hand him the baton, he has decided to run in the opposite direction.

"2022 itakuja mwaka hairudi nyuma.. Tuko relay, lakini sasa my brother William anapinduka anakimbia nyuma..mos mos.. utafika tu,” the Head of Sate said back then.

This remark forced Ruto to approach the President and whispered some words. For months, many wondered what the DP told his boss, but no answer was forthcoming.
