She would later lead the villagers to the aforementioned latrine where villagers managed to recover the child's body.

It is at this point that Faith Chepkorir confessed to the heinous crime of murdering her daughter.

The incident which occurred on Tuesday, June 29th shocked residents of Kapno village in Kuresoi, Nakuru county with neighbours revealing that Ms Chepkorir had separated from her husband.

This is just the latest case of a mother killing their child. In June 2020, a 42-year-old other poisoned her four children, locked them inside her house, and went into hiding. Beatrice Mwende later blamed her actions on evil spirits.

More recently, Akoth Atieno, a 23-year-old Homa Bay resident beheaded her 1-year-old son after he refused to breastfeed.
