Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka will meet ODM leader Raila Odinga on Thursday to discuss the political parties' sharing between the NASA constituent parties.

Speaking on Thursday afternoon, the Wiper Party leader revealed that he had scheduled a meeting with Raila with the multi-million shillings allocation meant for NASA which ODM has allegedly been hogging.

"The issue basically is the political parties' funds, the sharing of the revenue. This is taxpayers' money," Kalonzo answered when asked the purpose of the meeting.

The Wiper leader denied that 2022 politics was part of the agenda.

" I don't intend to discuss 2022 politics at this stage. The time for it is coming very soon because we don't have time," Kalonzo said perhaps opening the door on potential talks with Raila soon.

NASA constituent parties have been bickering over a multi-million kitty allocated to the Orange Democratic Movement as part of the political parties fund.

For a party to qualify for funding, it must have three governors, three senators, 20 MPs and 40 MCAs elected on its ticket. Only Jubilee and ODM have met this criterion.

However, based on the Political Parties Fund Act, the money is allocated based on the total number of votes received by all the party's candidates from the presidential candidates to the MCA.

Wiper, ANC and Ford Kenya are thus demanding a share of the kitty allocated to ODM on the strength of this declaration in the law.

In its defence, ODM is justifying its claim to the entire kitty, as the presidential elections in August 2017 were nullified with NASA boycotting the repeat polls.

ODM received Ksh 240 million in the 2020/2021 financial year from the registrar of political parties.
