Renowned Kenyan Billionaire Jimmy Wanjigi on Friday met Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria over what he termed as a meeting to “discuss the political future of Kenya’.

In a statement after the meeting, Kuria termed Wanjigi as one of the leading 2022 ODM presidential candidates, and welcomed him to Hustler Nation led by Deputy President William Ruto.

“Held intense discussions with one of the leading ODM Presidential candidates about the future of Kenya. The Hustler Nation welcomes all,” Kuria posted.

Prior to meeting Moses Kuria, Wanjigi met a group of Luo Elders at Shauri Moyo in Nairobi County.

The meetings come a few days after Wanjigi announced that he’ll be contesting for the 2022 presidency on an ODM Party ticket.

The ODM life member told a local daily that he had what it takes to lead the Orange party and ultimately the country.

While ODM Leader Raila Odinga has not out rightly announced his candidature, it is widely expected that he will make a fifth stab for the presidency but this time faces a challenge in the mould of Jimmy Wanjigi during the party’s primaries.

I’ll be running for the ODM ticket and I’ll be taking on Raila Odinga, and that will be my presidential ticket,” he said.

The well-heeled city billionaire comes from a well-connected family in the Mt Kenya region with deep pockets. His father, Maina Wanjigi, was a cabinet minister in the Jomo Kenyatta era.

Jimmy has also displayed his political nous and is credited as one of the power brokers behind the formation of the Uhuruto ticket in 2013.
