  • Speaking on Tuesday, Ruto said he will not protest the election results, unlike his opponents who he claimed never accept election outcomes.

Deputy President William Ruto has said he’ll accept the results of the 2022 Presidential election whether he is declared the winner or not.

Speaking during an interview on Tuesday morning, Ruto noted that he is a man who respects the law, adding that if IEBC does not declare him the winner, he’ll accept and move on.

"Mimi kama William Ruto, nitakubali uamuzi wa wakenya. IEBC ikitangaza kwamba nimeshinda, nitafurahi, iwapo itatangazwa kwamba nimeshindwa na mpinzani wangu, nitakubali maanake mimi nina imani na demokrasia..."

He took a swipe at his opponents claiming that they may not accept the results, adding that the opposition is known to protest election outcomes.

"Mimi nikishindwa katika uchaguzi nitakubali uamuzi wa wananchi. Hawa wengine hawawezi maanake hawajawahi kusema kwamba watakubali wakishindwa..."
