A section of Spring Valley residents in Nairobi County is counting losses after being attacked and robbed by a motorbike gang that invaded the estate early this week.
Reports indicate that at least six residents were attacked on Tuesday night and robbed of cash and other valuables in their possession.
According to some of the victims, the gang was in no hurry and moved from one area to the other, and in some instances blocked the road so that vehicles could not pass.
“It seems they knew there was no police patrol or immediate response,” one victim told a local daily.
The robbery cases were reported at Spring Valley police station. A hunt has been launched for the gang.

The incident comes at a time when cases of theft orchestrated by motorbike gangs have been on the rise in the city.
Last week, a video emerged online of an alleged police officer being robbed of his phone while controlling traffic at one of the city roads. The National Police Service (NPS), however, dismissed the video.
Meanwhile, NPS has taken note of the rising cases of theft orchestrated by motorbike gangs and directed all stations to form a special squad to sort the issue.
