Former National Assembly Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim has said that if the 2022 presidential race is between Deputy President William Ruto and former PM Raila Odinga, the DP will carry the day.

Speaking on Monday in a local TV station, Maalim said if it's down to the two, the second in command's victory will be assured very early.

"If it's going to be a race between Ruto and Raila, I don't like Ruto and I will never vote for him but against Raila he is going to win at 10am in the morning," said Maalim.

The former Lagdera MP and senate aspirant added that in the next general elections, about 85% sitting MPs will not be re-elected.

He insisted that this has happened before and it will happen again, including those who are always seen around DP Ruto.

"85% of the members of parliament today are not coming back. All those running around with Ruto in Mount Kenya are not coming back, it has happened always and it will happen again," he added.

The former Deputy Speaker called on leaders not to underrate President Uhuru Kenyatta because he is full of wisdom.

"You underrate Uhuru's brilliance and wisdom and you'll pay at your own cost. He's there with Raila and everybody else but never went to Kiambaa to campaign for Jubilee candidate," said Maalim.
