President Uhuru Kenyatta has secured a donation of 817,000 doses of Oxford-Astrazeneca vaccines from the United Kingdom government.
The first batch of 400,000 doses will arrive in Nairobi this week.
The donation is part of the United Kingdom's commitment to the COVAX initiative where it is set to donate 9 million doses to individual countries.

By mid-2022, the UK government has committed to sharing 100 million COVID19 vaccines with other nations across the globe.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has revealed that his government is committed to helping Kenya in the fight against the Coronavirus.
"As friends and allies, we are sharing UK vaccine doses to support Kenya's fight against the pandemic," PM Johnson told the press.
President Uhuru and PM Johnson will meet on Wednesday afternoon as they co-chair the Global Education Summit.
The two will then have bilateral talks on key issues with the fight against COVID19 set to be top on the agenda.
As of June 27th, Kenya had only managed to fully vaccinate 1.2% of its population.
In comparison, the UK has fully vaccinated over 71% of its population.
President Uhuru plants a commemorative tree at Kew Garden on Tuesday
On Wednesday, President Uhuru is expected to plant a commemorative tree at the Prime Minister's country home.
He will also meet senior members of the royal family.
President Uhuru Kenyatta will conclude his tour of the United Kingdom on Thursday after meeting Uk Health Secretary Sajid Javid.
