Narok Senator Ledama OleKina has announced that if he ever becomes Kenya’s President, his main focus would be enact land reforms in the country.
In a tweet on Thursday night, Ledama revealed that if he becomes president, he’ll ensure no Kenyan owns more than 1,000 acres of land.
He further noted that he’ll work towards ensuring that ranches illegally acquired will be returned to their original owners,
“When I become President of Kenya call it whatever economic model you want to call it! Middle , Sideways, bottom up or trickle down! No single person will own more than 1000 acres of land. All ranches in Laikipia will revert back to the original owners! Neocolonialism will end!” he tweeted.

In a separate tweet, Ledama accused the government of working with foreigners to take away land from members of the Maasai community living in Laikipia.
“Before you hit the sack say a prayer for Maa speaking people of Laikipia who have been made landless by the British Colonial and Neocolonialism as well as their own Government orchestrate by @FredMatiangi who makes colonialists look more like philanthropist! God hear our prayers!” he said.
Currently, land ownership is a sensitive subject in Kenya as there are some powerful persons who own thousands of acres of land across the country, yet many Kenyans have nowhere to call home. It is this disparity that Ledama hopes to end if he becomes President.
