Kanu Leader and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi told his fellow OKA coalition partner to respect the party's pact with Jubilee.

A storm is brewing at the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) after other members of the coalition demanded that Kanu end its pact with the ruling Jubilee Party.

Kanu Leader and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi told his fellow OKA coalition partner to respect the party's pact with Jubilee.

He stated that Kanu will not be forced or pressured into exiting its agreement with Jubilee on the basis of entering a new coalition. He made the pronouncements while addressing Kanu leaders from Mount Kenya during a meeting held at Kabarnet Gardens, Baringo County.

"If some people want to go their way, let them go. Let's meet at the ballot.

"Wakati huu hakutakua na katikati (This time round, nothing will come easy)," he stated.

OKA alliance constitutes other parties including Wiper Kenya, ANC, and FORD-Kenya.

Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi have since severed ties with the National Super Alliance (NASA) and demanded the same of Kanu.

"Musalia Mudavadi and Kalonzo Musyoka must respect the deal we have with Jubilee. We were instructed by our National Delegates Conference to support Jubilee. We are not turning back," Kanu Secretary-General Nick Salat stated.

Jubilee on its part has also maintained its willingness continue working with Kanu.

Jubilee Coalition Joint Parliamentary Group secretary Aden Keynan has since stated that the party believes Kanu will be an ally heading into the 2022 general elections and beyond.

"Kanu is a member of the Jubilee coalition and coalition making process is a legal process with serious legal ramifications if any of the parties break the coalition agreement," he stated.

He maintained that Kanu has remained trustworthy and has not shown any signs of backing out of the coalition.
