Legendary Kenyan broadcaster Gladys Erude has died.
According to Erude's brother Laban Kiragano, the veteran journalist died in Nairobi after a long battle with cancer.
She has died at the age of 70.
The deceased was one of the pioneer female radio journalists in the country.
She worked at VOK and later KBC until 2001 when she retired, having served the national broadcaster for 25 years.

After her retirement, she ventured into private practice where she established a company that focused on business reporting. She undertook the initiative for 8 before moving to the United States where her kids are based.
Prior to joining the media, she was a teacher at Tigoi Girls High school and later joined the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication in 1975 where she acquired her media skills.
Following news of her death, Kenyans took to social media to eulogise the deceased, with some terming early as one of the best presenters in the 80s and 90s.
