Uhuru Kenyatta: We are here to deliver services to our people and we must do that, na ule ambaye hataki hiyo akae kando kwa sababu sisi tutatembea kivi yetu, na hatutarudi nyuma. That is a fact. I will deliver on my pledge, I will deliver on my promise, kazi ni mingi, siasa kwa sasa haina nafasi, huduma kwa wananchi ndio tunategemea na ndio tunafuatili

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has hit out at President Uhuru Kenyatta over his recent remarks on the city’s leadership during his recent tour of Pumwani.

Speaking in Pumwani last week, the President noted that he is keen to fulfill his service delivery promise to Nairobians, adding that anyone trying to stand in the way of his promise should step aside.

According to the president, it is not time to play politics as residents of Nairobi are longing for improved service delivery.

The Head of State urged Nairobi residents to support the Nairobi Metropolitan Service and its Director General Mohamed Badi as the state agency accelerates service delivery in the city.

“We are here to deliver services to our people and we must do that, na ule ambaye hataki hiyo akae kando kwa sababu sisi tutatembea kivi yetu, na hatutarudi nyuma. That is a fact. I will deliver on my pledge, I will deliver on my promise, kazi ni mingi, siasa kwa sasa haina nafasi, huduma kwa wananchi ndio tunategemea na ndio tunafuatilia,” he said.

Sonko’s Reaction

Reacting to the President’s remarks, Sonko accused the Head of State of intimidating him.

He noted that President Kenyatta who he once loved in no longer lovable.

“My Brother, our beloved President tunakupenda sana lakini haupendeki tena. Sir, with all due respect this kind of intimidation is not healthy at all. There's life after politics and there's life after death as well. God bless you and your entire family. God bless Kenya,” he tweeted.
