Turkish Businessman Harun Aydin who was part of Deputy President William Ruto's entourage to Uganda has been deported.

Aydin was reportedly arrested on Saturday after landing in Kenya from Uganda.

Reports indicate that he was arrested over claims of being involved in the financing of terror activities.

He was expected to be presented in court today, but it now appears that he has been deported.

Speaking outside the Kahawa Law Courts where Aydin was expected to be arraigned, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi confirmed that the Turkish businessman had been deported.

According to Sudi, the government resorted to deporting Aydin because they lacked anything credible to charge him with.

Sudi accused the government of deporting Aydin with an aim of frustrating the DP; who had close links to the businessman.

Reacting to reports of the deportation, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen noted that the move could injure diplomatic relations between Kenya and Turkey.

"I told you. The desperados realizing the embarrassment they have visited upon themselves have decided not to charge businessman Harun Aydin. They are ready to ruin our international relations and Foreign direct investment in pursuit of petty politics. In the end they will ruin themselves," he tweeted.

Aydin has been a subject of discussion in the country ever since it emerged that he was part of Ruto's entourage to the Uganda trip that he was blocked from attending.

A lot of reports emerged online on Aydin's past, but the DP and the Turkish Embassy in Kenya have maintained that he is a law abiding citizen and a credible investor.
