Human Rights Activist and politician Boniface Mwangi has warned people who send him messages addressing him as Mheshimiwa that he will stop reading their messages and instead delete them.
In a post seen by Nairobi Leo, the father of three who vied for the Starehe MP in 2017 said he did win the seat, and therefore never earned the name honourable.
He further stated that even during his campaign, he refused to be addressed as such.
Mwangi said that all he wants to do now is give his children the best life and spend time with his wife Njeri.
“If you send me a direct message calling me mheshimiwa or honourable, I will delete it. I was never elected so I don’t earn that title. When I was vying I refused to be called that name. I’m not vying for any seat in 2022 general elections. I’m on a break from politics. I’m happy minding my own business. I took a break because I want to give our children the best of me. I did my best serving this country and others. Now let me spend time with mama bear @njerikan, Nate, Naila and Jabu. While at it learn how to dance,” he said.

This comes a few days after he announced that he has taken a break from politics and would not be vying for any position in 2022.
In an emotional video posted on social media on Monday, Mwangi also announced that he was resigning from his position as the Ukweli Party Leader, but will continue to be a member of the party because he believes in its ideologies.
He added that the party needed an active political player to lead it into the next general elections.
