The Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai has taken action against a drunk police officer seen in a video that has since gone viral.

In a statement by Police Spokesperson Bruno Shioso, the IG has directed the Laikipia County Police Commander to begin administrative action against the officer.

He went on to state that such irresponsible behaviour has no place in the Police service.

"Attention of the @IG_NPS has been drawn to a video clip circulating on social media of a drunk, armed and uniformed police officer harassing innocent members of the public. Laikipia County Police Commander is taking administrative action against the officer. Such irresponsible and criminal behavior has no place within the @NPSOfficial_KE," said the statement.

In the video, the said officer who was in full uniform was drunk and is seen harassing members of the public.
