  • Rival groups clashed before the second in command's arrival at Mbiriri Full Gospel church in Kieni.

Chaos erupted on Sunday, September 5, 2021, during Deputy President William Ruto's visit to Kieni in Nyeri County where he attended a church service.

Rival groups clashed before the second in command's arrival at Mbiriri Full Gospel church in Kieni.

Before his arrival at the church, DP Ruto encountered youths who tried to barricade the road and stop him from proceeding to the church.

In videos seen by Nairobi Leo, the youths are seen carry banners and are heard chanting "mwizi" as the entourage passed by.

Reports indicate that the DP was to have a meeting with three different churches before two of those churches cancelled their invitations to DP Ruto.
