Chaos erupted in Nairobi's Lang'ata estate after a motorist ran over a boda-boda operator and the pillion passenger on the night of Monday, September 6, 2021.
The incident prompted demonstrations from members of the public, who blocked sections of the road causing a huge traffic snarl up in the area.
Police responded quickly to the scene of the incident and managed to get hold of the situation before it escalated.
According to area residents, irate boda-boda operators confronted the police demanding justice for their deceased colleague.
Gunshots were heard in the air as the law enforcement officers attempted to dispatch the boda-boda riders along with crowds of protesters on the road.

Police officers foiled the chaos, restoring calm in the area, which allowed traffic to flow smoothly again.
The officers arrested the driver of the saloon car that the knocked down the boda-boda rider and his passenger, and he was taken in for questioning.
The police assured they will investigate the matter fully and ensure justice for all parties.
The incident occurred a month after two pedestrians were ran over by a senior police officer, King'ori Mwangi, along the same road.
He sped off after the incident leaving the pedestrians writhing in pain on the side walk. He was pursued by angry boda-boda operators who attacked his vehicle.
King'ori was rescued by a policewoman who was on duty along the road. He is said to have been driving on the wrong side of the road when it happened.
