  • The election is one of the most anticipated in the country as it will pit Kuria’s CCK party against UDA Party allied to Deputy President William Ruto.

The Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) Party has received a major boost in the upcoming Kiagu ward by-election in Meru County after one of the aspirants withdrew his bid in favour of CCK’s candidate.

Making the announcement on his official Facebook page, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria who’s closely associated with CCK noted that Mwenda Nchamba from NOPEU party has vowed to support CCK’s Milton Mwenda Kabobo.

“I wish to take this opportunity to thank my soul mate Hon Mpuru Aburi and the NOPEU Party for withdrawing their candidate in the Kiagu By-Election Mwenda Nchamba and vowing to support the Chama Cha Kazi Candidate Hon Milton Mwenda Kabobo,” Kuria said.

The move is a boost for Kuria’s team as it has reduced competition and earned Kabobo more supporters ahead of the by-election.

The Kiagu ward by-election is set for October 14th 2021. The election is one of the most anticipated in the country as it will pit Kuria’s CCK party against UDA Party allied to Deputy President William Ruto.

It worth noting that Kuria subscribes to the Hustler Nation ideology, and has been a close ally of DP Ruto; who has close links to the UDA party.

If none of the candidates step down, this will be the first time two parties under the Hustler Nation faceoff against each other.

UDA has cleared Simon Kambi to fly the party’s flag in the upcoming mini-poll.
