Residents of Konate, Nyamira County are in shock after a speeding vehicle dropped off boxes containing the mutilated body of a man by the road side before speeding off.

The incident is reported to have occurred on the night of Tuesday, September 14, 2021.

The body was dumped off at the Konate Junction along the Kisii-Ikonge Road.


According to locals, the car dropped off what looked like two parcel boxes then sped off. They went to inspect the boxes, that is when they discovered a badly mutilated body of a man stuffed in the boxes.

The body parts were wrapped in red and black polythene bags in two gunny bags and stashed into the boxes.

Police have since launched investigations into the incident, noting that the boxes were dropped off at around 10 pm.

Nyamira South Sub-County Police Commander Moses Kirong further revealed that the dismembered body of the unidentified man was missing a head.

“We will unravel who these people are,”  Kiring was quoted by Nation as saying.

Detectives from the Directorte of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have since taken up the matter according to Nyamira County Commissioner Amos Mariba.

“It is a cold blooded incident and the DCI has already instituted investigations. We promise speedy action...the mysterious killers will be known,” he said.

The remains of the deceased have since been taken to the Nyamira County Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem and identification of the man.
