Deputy President William Ruto has said that he will ensure the welfare of President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga is well taken care off if he is elected President in 2022.

Speaking in Migori County on Saturday, Ruto said he has no personal issues with President Kenyatta and Raila, noting that he played critical roles in pushing the two to top offices in the country.

“Mimi nitachunga hawa watu wote, ntapitia askari mingi mingi wakue wanatembea na kufanya maneno mzuri, no problem, iko shida gani?” the DP said.

While popularizing his bottom-up economic model, the DP accused Uhuru and Raila of ganging up together with One Kenya Alliance leaders with an aim of stopping his 2022 presidential bid.

The DP noted that he will not be intimidated, adding that while the president’s team has seven key players, his brigade is filled with hustlers who will stand with him in 2022.

“Wameungana wanasema mimi nisipate… Wametengeza gang, wako na gang ya watu saba, lakini mimi nko na gang ya mahustler wote Kenya,” he said.

During the tour, the DP was accompanied by Migori Governor Okoth Obado, MPs; Sylvanus Osoro and Ndindi Nyoro, and political strategist Eliud Owalo.

The tour is part of DP Ruto’s strategy to make inroads in Odinga’s strongholds of Kisii and Migori countries, which political pundits argue are slowly turning into battle zones due to their cosmopolitan nature.
