  • The Deputy President William Ruto is expected in to hold several meetings in the area, just a week after President Uhuru Kenyatta.

A section of local leaders and elected members of the Nyeri County Assembly were on Thursday in a private meeting to polish up plans to host Deputy President William Ruto on Friday.

The meeting was held at a hotel in Nyeri Town and in attendance were DP Ruto's 2022 presidential ambitions crusaders who silently toured the area to assess happenings ahead of their boss's visit.

Chinga Ward Representative in the County Assembly of Nyeri, Kiruga Thuku led the delegation that also consisted of former elected leaders.

According to South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro who was part of the meeting, the Deputy President is expected in Kiriaine on Friday.

"I have been here privately and I can confirm that our trip to Kiria‐ini tomorrow with the Deputy President will be awesome. The activism and unfounded claims on social media are not mirrored on the ground," disclosed Osoro.

Osoro is one of the MPs that never misses in the Deputy President's trips to any part of the country. He is christened one of the team captains among Tangatanga affiliated parliamentarians.

The Ruto visit comes barely a week after President Kenyatta attended a church service in PCEA Tumutumu Church with social media critics saying his presence in the area could not be felt.

A number of photos shared across social media showed the president addressing a handful of residents in one of the stopovers.
