Renowned Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi on Friday set social media ablaze as he showcased his new house in the lavish Karen estate, Nairobi County.

In a video shared on Instagram, Eric noted that he decided to showcase his new house as a way of inspiring young Kenyans that art pays.

He took issue with those claiming that the house is not his, noting that he has been in the industry since 2008 and made enough money to acquire the house.

“I have worked for fourteen years. There are people I know for their selfish reasons, political reasons; some have sent me threats, now they are saying this is not my house… After I have worked for fourteen years, who doesn’t know Eric Omondi? Nliingia Churchill Show 2008… This is nothing, If you went to America, Kevin Hart owns 5 houses,” he said.

Eric further noted that the magnitude of the house should not scare young people as everything is possible if you work hard and exercises determination towards achieving your goal.

“God has blessed us with talents and gifts and we’ve used them. It is uncouth, backward and primitive to take this as something so big that you cannot believe. Why shouldn’t Eric Omondi have ten houses? He is the top comedian in Africa,” Eric said.

Reacting to the video, media personality Jacque Maribe, who’s also the mother to Eric’s son posed a cheeky question seeking to know whether they should discuss about bedrooms for their children.

“Tuongee juu ya bedrooms za watoto au tuwache?” she posed. By press time, Eric was yet to respond to her question.

Meanwhile, the post has elicited massive reactions with netizens hailing Eric for boldly addressing the issue.
