Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has explained why she does not move around with her husband, lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo, noting that he’s not a politician, therefore he’s taken a back seat on matters politics.

Speaking during an interview with NTV on Monday, Waiguru noted that though her husband rarely features on her public engagements, he has fully assumed his duty as Kirinyaga County’s First Gentleman.

Governor Waiguru further noted that her husband supports her administration in various ways when called upon to.

 “Anafanya kazi yake kwa upande wa First Gentleman. Hii wikendi kama first spouses, walikuwa na programme ya health amabayo walikuwa waanzisha mwezi wa Cancer, alikuwa chief guest na ma first lady wale wengine wote walikuweko, anafanya kazi yake vile anaweza kuisaidia county, lakini yeye sio mwanasiasa kwa hivyo hawi kule mbele,” she said.

Opening up on her experience in marriage so far, Governor Waiguru noted that she is happy, adding that she’s added a few kilos ever since she got married.

According to Waiguru, her glowing face and bright smile are evidence that she is happily married.

“Nadhani ukiniona kwa sura utajua… Ukiniona kutoka ile siku nilifunga ndoa hadi sasa utaona nimeongeza kidogo, iyo ni kumaanisha nina furaha, ukiniangalia sura ya tabasamu, kwa hivyo ndoa ni nzuri,” she said.
