Deputy President William Ruto has called upon members of the public to register as voters ahead of the 2022 general elections.

In a rather interesting video shared on his Twitter page on October 8, 2021, the DP used his chat with Mama Rachel Ruto to sensitise Kenyans to vote.

"Decisions are being made everyday about your life. You must take your place at the table. For millions of young Kenyans this will be a first.

"Kijana changamkia hii opportunity. Safisha Rada , Jisajili . Juu kama hauko, hauko," he stated.

In the video, the deputy president sends a message to Mama Rachel asking if their daughter Cullie has ever registered as a voter.

"Hey Rachel. By the way has Cullie ever registered as a voter? Well, there is always a first time," DP Ruto's text messages read, accompanied with wink emojis.

Rachel responds saying, "I guess there is always a first time."

"Me inboxing you or Cullie registering to vote?" Ruto posed. "Both I guess," she responded.

DP Ruto has urged the youth in the country to make an informed decision and register as voters, and take part in shaping the future of the country.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) rolled out the nationwide voter registration exercise on October 4.

The process will last till November 2 and targets 6 million new voters.
