  • According to Boniface Mwangi, Akothee has all it takes to be Kenya’s fifth president in 2022.

Human Rights activist Boniface Mwangi has expressed his disappointment that no woman has currently expressed interest in the 2022 presidential race.

In a tweet on Monday, Boniface Mwangi appeared to encourage women to go for the top seat, and singled out renowned musician Akothee as a good fit.

According to Mwangi, Akothee has all it takes to be Kenya’s fifth president, adding that she has more qualifications than some of the aspirants who’ve declared interest at the moment.

“There isn’t a single woman running to be the president of Kenya? Where is @AkotheeKenya? She is more qualified to be our president than 90% of the corrupt men who are vying,” he said.

By press time, Akothee was yet to respond to Boniface Mwangi call for her to contest the presidential seat.

Boniface Mwangi’s tweet caught many by surprise as Akothee has not shown any interest in 2022 politics, leave alone the presidency.

Some of the candidates who’ve expressed interest in the presidency so far include; DP William Ruto, Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi, Governors; Alfred Mutua and Kivutha Kibwana, Dr Mukhisa Kituyi, Reuben Kagame and Jimi Wanjigi among others.

If the situation remains the same, it will not be a surprise, as there was no female candidate in the 2017 presidential election.
