Raila Nominated His Relatives to the Kilifi County Assembly - MP Aisha Jumwa

Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa has alleged that ODM Leader Raila Odinga nominated people from Nyanza to the Kilifi County Assembly.

While addressing church congregants at Latter Glory Worship Centre in Gachie, Kiambaa Constituency, on Sunday, October 24, 2021, the lawmaker accused the former premier of neglecting people from the Coast region in nominations.

Jumwa claimed that the ODM leader brought in his relatives to do legislation in Kilifi.

"We as people from the Coast, you all know how we drummed up support for him (Raila) in the region. Luckily you already knew his ways and left him to us. For the short time, we supported him and voted for him, what he did was show us who he is," she said.

"Instead of selecting people from Kilifi or Coast and giving them nominations, he brought people from Nyanza to do legislation in Kilifi. And it was not only people from Nyanza, but his family members and relatives.

"Now that is Raila Odinga for you," Jumwa stated.

The Malindi lawmaker urged the people of Kiambaa not to buy into the narrative channeled by the former Prime Minister.

Jumwa proceeded to take a jab at Odinga's fitness eliciting cheers from the congregation.

"Raila Odinga asiwadanganye. He should not lie to you that he can climb the mountain. If climbing onto the podium he must be supported, how will he climb the mountain?" She posed, amid jeers from the congregation.

Jumwa decamped from ODM alongside late former Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori and declared their support for Deputy President William Ruto.

She campaigned fiercely for a DP Ruto-backed candidate in the Msambweni by-elections, which saw Hustler Nation's Feisal Badder emerge victorious.
