Ngirici told off Waiguru, asking her not to hinge the alleged charges to be brought against her on joining UDA.

The rivalry between Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and Woman Representative Wangui Ngirici does not appear to slow down.

This is after the latter took a swipe at the county boss for alleging that anti-graft agencies are on her neck for decamping to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Taking to Twitter, Waiguru shared an image of the front page of a local daily which alleged that she was bound to be arrested on charges of corruption.

She posted the image alongside a screenshot of a Facebook post in which she declared support for UDA and the bottom-up economic model.

"Surely, barely 48hrs after we decamped to UDA & now this? As a believer in the rule of law, this is unfortunate.

"It’s intention is to dissuade those contemplating the same & an attempt at engineering succession politics. It won't work. Kenyans are not stupid. There is God in heaven," Waiguru stated.

Taking jabs at the governor, Ngirici told off Waiguru for claiming that she was being targeted for decamping from Jubilee Party.

"When anti-graft agencies strike, don't blame it on joining UDA. We have built the party from scratch," Ngirici stated.

The two have not shied from broadcasting their rivalry after Ngirici declared her bid for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat.

Waiguru has since joined UDA and the two are set to square it out for the party's nomination ticket ahead of the August 9, 2022, general elections.

Over the recent years, politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto have decried harassment by the government through state agencies such as the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC), the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and in other instances the National Police Service (NPS) through the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

However, in this instance, Ngirici told off Waiguru, asking her not to hinge the alleged charges to be brought against her on joining UDA.
