An unknown number of armed men on Thursday night ambushed and reportedly abducted Ex-MP Fred Gumo’s sister-in-law and her driver outside the politician’s Muthaiga home.

According to reports on Nation, Gumo’s sister in law and the driver were reportedly waiting for the gate to be opened when the attack occurred.

The matter has since been reported to the police and investigations commenced.

Fred Gumo is a veteran politician in the country. He served as Member of Parliament for Westlands Constituency from 1994 to 2013.

Gumo also served as Minister for Regional Development during the Grand Coalition government. He also served as Acting Minister for local Government following the resignation of Musalia Mudavadi in 2012.
