Kabando further said DP Ruto was 'the man to beat in the upcoming general elections.

Former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando has claimed that any presidential aspirant who will be endorsed by President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 will lose terribly.

The former legislator urged the two frontrunners ODM Leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto not to focus on being endorsed by Uhuru or else they will be on the losing side next year.

Kabando further said DP Ruto was 'the man to beat in the upcoming general elections.

"Anyone endorsed by outgoing Uhuru will lose terribly. Frontrunners Raila and Ruto know this too well. Raila's increasingly becoming a possibility. Ruto remains the man to beat. Amiable Mudavadi seems angling - Man To Watch. Kalonzo still wandering, but may Key as 2007," Kabando tweeted.

The legislator added, "President Uhuru is hands-on and knows everything happening in every corner and on every key political leader. Only Arap Moi can beat him on this. Biggest Uhuru achievement post-2017 elections is he has silenced all his main competitors, and enrolled them big-time state largesse."

His sentiments a month after the former legislator said a Raila Odinga presidency is increasingly becoming a reality.

Kabando is also on record saying Ruto’s hustler narrative resonates well on the ground with the common voter.

According to Kabando, he has met several presidential candidates, but the ODM leader is increasingly winning people’s confidence on the ground.

He however urged politicians not to disregard the presence of Kalonzo, who remains a key decision-maker come 2022.
