One Person Shot During Moses Wetangula's Meeting at Bomas of Kenya (Photo)

One person was shot on Thursday, November 4, at the Bomas of Kenya during the ongoing FORD Kenya's National Delegates meeting. 

The meeting was scheduled to name Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula as the party's presidential flagbearer for 2022 despite an order that suspended the forum.

Trouble began when a huge crowd of delegates donned in green arrived to vote before someone attempted to disrupt the meeting. 

Reports indicate that one of the delegates had carried a gun and fired two shots harming another person in the meeting. 

The victim being attended to by doctors in a St John's Ambulance. 

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital in a St John's ambulance. 

The FORD Kenya meeting is proceeding in another section of the hall at the Bomas of Kenya despite the shooting. 

On Wednesday, the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPDT) suspended the planned National Delegates Conference (NDC) meeting due to two warring groups within the party. 

The order was issued after a petition was filed by Crispinus Barasa under a certificate of urgency.

“That pending inter parties hearing and determination of the Notice of Motion application dated November 2, 2021, interim orders for injunction be and are hereby issued restraining the second respondent from proceeding with the NDC,” the tribunal ruled.
