President Uhuru Kenyatta has come to the rescue of two teenage referees after they were forced to stay home due to a lack of school fees.

The two girls, Zulfa Abdul Ahmed and Nema Adul Ghan resumed their studies at Getembe Mixed Secondary School in Kisii County after the Head of State cleared their Ksh.14, 000 cumulative school fees arrears.

The story of the two girls, in forms two and three, was aired during JKLive on Citizen TV prompting the president to take action.

The payment of their tuition fees was facilitated by State House Comptroller Kinuthia Mbugua.

Zulfa and Nema are sisters and are both passionate about football. They are both FKF class three referees.

President Kenyatta similarly promised to look into ways of advancing the pair's ambitions to become top-class FIFA referees.

The sisters have been officiating lower league football matches in Kisii and they have been supporting their families with the little money they earn in the process.
