Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi has officially unveiled a funds drive in aid of his 2022 Westlands Parliamentary bid.

In a statement on Monday, Havi noted that he has great plans for Westlands constituents and Kenyans at large if elected to Parliament.

Havi listed good legislation, equitable revenue allocation, effective executive oversight and infrastructural development as some of his key agendas.

According to Havi, anyone who contributes to his campaign fund will be making a contribution towards ensuring that above listed points are actualized.

He noted that contributions can be made via M-Pesa or through bank accounts provided on his social media platforms.

“IEBC has set 9-12-2021 as the deadline for election campaign financing fundraising. Please help us raise funds to serve the People of Westlands and Kenya in Parliament,” Havi’s message read in part.

Havi’s announcement elicited mixed reactions with a section of netizens, promising to contribute, while others made fun of him.

Havi is seeking to replace current Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi who has expressed interest in being Nairobi Governor on an ODM Party ticket.

While declaring his bid, Havi announced that he will be vying on an Amani National Congress (ANC) Party ticket.

"I have come here to ask for a chance to serve you in parliament as the Member of Parliament for Westlands.

"I have a direction, which is the Amani National Congress. The problem with Westlands is the lack of well-being and lack of jobs. That is why the agenda for ANC is to improve the current economic state of the area," he said.
